Ok. It's May, so that means I'm a day late and a dollar short...but I'm sharing anyway. This poem is an acrostic so the title can be read down the left side of the poem and it's also free style.
JESUS BROKEN BODY; JESUS SPILLED BLOOD
Jesus
Endured everything meant for me...
Shame and degradation
Ugly words of hate
Scourged and spit upon
Body torn and pierced
Redemption gained in each mark
On His flesh
Knowing, I put them there
Eternally
Not to shame me, but remind me
Beautiful salvation
Oh, the glory to be of such worth
Daring to belong to Him
Yahweh's beloved
Jesus
Endured everything meant for me...
Shame and degradation
Ugly words of hate
Scourged and spit upon
Slashed and bleeding
Precious life flowing from wounds
I caused Him to take in my place
Love is the only reason
Love paid a high price
Even though it was my
Debt to pay...
Beautiful redemption
Lasting forgiveness
Oh, the glory of such love
Only a Father can give
Divine love...

Ok. I'm not much for Iambic whatever's, but I have been birthing poetry for about as long as I can remember. Some are easy labors and births and others are long and arduous. Here is one recent birth that falls in between:
I FELL IN LOVE TODAY
I fell in love today...
With a love that will last.
All the other loves I've had
Have faded into the past.
This love has conquered all:
All fear, all sorrow, all pain.
This love will last forever;
This love will never change.
I've longed for this kind of love.
A love so true and strong.
No jealousy can ruin this love;
No one can break this bond.
I can't believe this gift of love--
I know that I am blessed.
I know I'm not worth this love,
Yet, it has made me priceless.
I didn't work to earn this love,
As so often is the case.
All I did was lift my head
And look into this loving face.
I can't hold this inside me.
I have to shout and dance and sing!
I want to share about this love;
This love that gives me everything.
It brings me grace; it gives me joy;
It gives a hope so precious.
Oh, yes, I fell in love today...
With You, my sweet Jesus.

Cyanocitta Cristata
(In Iambic Pentameter Quatrains abab)
Crested, blue chattering bird; yes you are,
Keeping my company all winter long;
My other feathered friends have gone afar,
From the snow and icy winds howling strong;
Monogamously you mate ‘til you die
Amid the good and bad you will partake.
Humans on this trait should give it a try
And stop the ever rising divorce rate.
From my Ohio home I see you perch
On the highest bough, there you take your place;
Cardinals come not, for fear of your birch
Your attacking skills show on pretty face.
Fearless as love my jay-bird cocks its crest
On the gray limb of a snow-flecked maple;
Blue, white and black bedeck its fancy dress
What shenanigans will you once more pull?
Casey chased you from her backyard feeder
She said you displayed a bad attitude
And that you are a corvid pilferer
Stealing and raiding with high latitude.
I think Casey was harsh, mean and unfair
For you only wanted to eat and play
Musical notes across the woodland air;
With fervent zest you do this night and day.
From dawn to dusk I hear my blue jay’s call
High in the forest trees it sings for me
Throughout the winter, spring, summer and fall
Its musical wheedle and tooloolee.
Cynacitta cristata my true love
I shall miss your sweet notes your voice recalls,
And your gorgeous body floating above
With peculiar quirks, ruffles and falls;
I’m leaving Buckeye for the surf and sand,
It’s for a while but I must go away
To raise black-belly sheep on Maycock’s land;
Shall be back jay-jay on Thanks Giving Day.
